The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has unveiled a project to streamline baggage screening for cruise ship passengers on Royal Caribbean catching flights on American Airlines from the Port of Miami. The system will reduce hassles for air/sea travelers, the agency says.
After sea passengers clear Customs and Immigration, the TSA screens their baggage and transfers it to the airport.
Miami International Airport federal security director Ed Guevara says that more than 15,000 passengers disembark from ships at the port during the peak season, with most heading straight for the airport.
